At Judy’s Preparatory School, we focus on the The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework of England, which supports an integrated approach to early learning and care.

 

It gives all early years professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children. Our goals encourage children to be enthusiastic, self-confident and independent learners.

Children are exposed to a wide variety of learning opportunities during their time at Judy's Preparatory School. The children are provided with the opportunity to develop their individual skills, interests and talents.

Our curriculum also respects individual learning styles and ever-changing interests. The E.Y.F.S is the learning stage for children from birth to 5 years.

 Children learn through play.

 Teachers must be adequately qualified to work with young children.

 The environment must be clean, safe and child-friendly.

 Adults to children ratio must be appropriate for the age of children.

 

There are 7 areas of learning in E.Y.F.S which are divided into 2.

 

The Prime Areas focus on children from birth to 3yrs Old:-

Our Classes

​

Infant Bubbles: 3months - 1year old

We spend a lot of time engaging with our infants, in order to further develop the appropriate motor skills. These skills are necessary for movement, coordination, strength, communication skills, and the ability to stand, walk, and manipulate large to medium sized objects.

Toddler Pebbles: 1+ to 2 years old

Toddlers are led through age-appropriate activities to improve coordination, increase verbal skills and learn to solve problems. Your child will thrive while enjoying creative play and interaction in an environment that builds visual, verbal, physical and creative development. 

 

Playgroup Marble: 2+ to 3 years old

They are beginning to understand group play and are becoming better at communicating their thoughts. A lot of group activities are incorporated into their programme to build social skills such as cooperation, sharing and taking turns. Art, music, language and science are part of the daily activities that organize their experiences. Your child will be nurtured in an environment that fosters a love of learning and positive self-image. 

 

Nursery Cuddle: 3+ to 4 years old

Preschoolers are eager to learn; they improve coordination, learn complex games and begin to interact more with their peers. With group projects, our preschoolers learn to interact, communicate and work together. The programme introduces math, language, and social skills in a logical natural sequence to encourage learning.

 

Reception Sparkle: 4+ to 5 years old

This stage of learning is a critical time for children as they begin the adventure of a lifetime of learning. They are ready for exploration of concepts in the area of reading, math, science, art social skills, vocabulary learning, letters and words as well as the continued growth of language and challenges of the next phase. The children’s curiosity, independence and self-confidence are fostered through the use of appropriate activities. The programme promotes independence while preparing your child for the next exciting phase.

 

Assessments & Reports

Parents are involved in the assessment process on a regular, ongoing basis. They are be encouraged to take part in their child’s learning and development.

 

Parents are provided with a weekly update on their childs portfolio using our in-house application. This contains a summary of their child’s attainment against the early learning goals (ELGs).

Reports are:

• specific to the child

• detailed and informative

• help to identify appropriate next steps

The assessment process is designed to help ensure children make adequate progress through their school careers, but it also informs planning, and measures a school's performance.

The school will report your child’s progress to you. This can happen in different ways, e.g.Weekly Update on Portfolio, End-of-Term reports or Parents Teachers Meetings at the school. As end-of-year reports are handed out, the information lets parents get an idea of how their child is doing in accordance to their expected levels of development.
